A NEW STANDARD FOR SUSTAINABILITY

Renewable energy, advanced water conservation and alternative transportation help Fanita Ranch support Santee’s climate action goals.

DESIGNED FOR SUSTAINABILITY

As we designed this plan, sustainability was a central focus. We will create onsite renewable energy using rooftop solar panels and our small solar farm.

In partnership with the local water district, we plan to use a cutting-edge water reuse program that will offset our water use. Hands-on local food production will help create a healthy and sustainable community.

Solar power, energy efficient construction and a transportation management plan will help offset our carbon impact and reduce emissions.

Local, Sustainable & Drought-Proof Water Supply

Fanita Ranch will use water from Padre Dam’s innovative Advanced Water Purification Program, which uses a four-step advanced treatment system to reuse local water, saving money, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing reliability of the water supply.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

The amount of energy required to power a home or other structure is offset with the amount of green energy produced from rooftop solar and the onsite solar farm.

COMMUNITY FARMING

An organic farm and orchard will help build a healthy and sustainable community through hands-on local food production.
